Synergy has absolutely changed my life. The therapists and staff are amazing. If I could give this program 100 stars I would. They are all intelligent and compassionate. I live in a beautiful home in a safe environment located in a very nice and peaceful neighborhood. They have provided me with not only the physical needs, but all of the tools that I need to be successful in my life. This was the best decision I could have ever made for myself and I highly recommend this program to anyone struggling with drugs and alcohol. Thank you Synergy! I will never forget you guys and will always be grateful for you all! If anyone has any doubts about this being a genuine review, feel free to message me on Facebook. I'm a real person and I will freely speak with anyone about my experience here. The negative reviews here are from ungrateful, entitled, irrational, dishonest individuals that brought drama to themselves, I can assure you. I'm now living back home in Missouri and my life is going great!
I've learned more in the week I've been here then I did at the last program I was in for 5 months. The staff is AMAZING. They truly care & take time to listen & help find a solution for anything I'm going thru. I feel like we're all family here. I'm so grateful that God placed me here. This is exactly what I needed in my life. It feels so good to know I have people to turn to, who are on my side & want to see me succeed & are helping me do so.
I was involved with Synergy Sober Living for 4 months total, and lived in 2 of their sober living houses - West Hollywood and Malibu. The PHP, IOP, & OP programs there are good to an extent, primarily due to the group facilitators, however as a whole, the entire program lacks curriculum, structure, and stability. The owner is completely two-faced, using photos of the houses from many years past on his website, which lists the homes as "luxury" sober living, yet luxury is something you will absolutely NOT find there currently. You get shocked when you turn on the shower in West Hollywood, and the pool is completely stagnant. In Malibu there is raw sewage backing up into the backyard which he refuses to foot the bill to fix, and anything needing repairs at these houses, he expects the clients to fix and has no problem using them to do so in order to save money. There is no support for someone seeking actual recovery, especially when it comes to attending groups and AA or NA meetings as the owner refuses to provide transportation to or from these events, and even the group sessions, and counseling sessions he insists on using Zoom rather than in-person so that he won't have to pay for Ubers. While I was there I did everything in my power to help the program and the owner by putting up beds, moving furniture, cleaning and repairing the homes, all with NO APPRECIATION from the owner, who then used me as a House Manager while also still a Client, thereby avoiding any possible paper trails of actual employment, and when he was done and I was close to graduating, he had someone else step in as House Manager and wanted to then start charging me rent. I would recommend almost ANY other company for your recovery over this one. My wife and I both completed their program, and after we left the owner continued trying to bill my wife's insurance for almost a month after we were gone. If your true goal is to get sobriety, Synergy will make it very difficult to achieve and keep. I have even been threatened with legal action if I posted any negative reviews about this place, and I am fully aware that other than the review posted by "Uber Driver", every other positive review about this company was made by people still living there , under coersion by the owner. It's hard to speak out about a slumlord when you are still living in one of their properties!!! I also saw firsthand that staff members of Synergy falsified urinalysis samples from a couple clients, sending them back through the residential detox phase and starting them over, which allows for further insurance billing, among several other illegal tactics and highly unethical business practices. To sum things up, do NOT go there, that's my experience.
It is very disturbing to see the countless fraudulent reviews about this company. I personally know that many are cohearse. If you’re truly seeking recovery, I urge you to avoid Synergy Behavior Health Sober Living. The environment lacks structure and stability, with no clear guidelines or consistent support to help residents stay sober. Worse, incidents of physical violence are frequent, making the facility not only uncomfortable but unsafe. The owner demonstrates an alarming disregard for the well-being of both clients and staff, seemingly prioritizing profit over people. This operation bears troubling signs of a body brokering atmosphere, prioritizing financial incentives over genuine recovery. For anyone serious about rebuilding their life, Synergy is a dangerous choice to avoid. I stand upon each and every word of this review with a filed police report with the LAPD and $35,000 of unpaid medical bills from the medical treatment I had to receive as the direct result of a physical attack I endured while being a house manager. I welcome any legal bully attacks as well. Hopefully it will expedite the exposure of this wash, rinse and repeat program. I stand sober for 2 years as of January 8, 2025 as a blessed result of detoxing at West Hollywood Alcohol Treatment Center and attending PHP and IOP at Inneractions Intensive Outpatient Program.
