I was hospitalized for four days, and I can say with absolute certainty that I have never been in a hospital with such caring, attentive, and patient people. They truly do everything they can to accommodate your needs—always with a smile on their face. On my first night, I struggled to rest because my roommate was playing loud music. I didn’t get much sleep, but the nurse noticed and kindly moved me to a private room where I was finally able to sleep well. The meals were surprisingly good—especially considering hospital food standards—and I was always well fed. The nursing team came from many different nationalities, yet they all shared the same genuine warmth and dedication to caring for others. You can tell they have a real calling for what they do. Everyone showed great willingness to help, even though I know I can be a complicated patient at times. Special thanks to Matthew for being so friendly, kind, and helpful; to Lester—truly the “Master of the Veins”; to Niko, Anne, and Dr. Myint. The hospital itself is extremely clean, organized, and offers a high standard of service that truly makes a difference. If I could give one suggestion, it would be to ensure all nurses receive guidance on how to approach patients with anxiety, panic disorder, or claustrophobia. And of course—more TV channels wouldn’t hurt!

I’ve visited San Mateo Medical Center three times for the same persistent leg pain, and I still haven’t received a proper diagnosis or solution. On my last visit (June 22, 2025), the nurses assigned to my case didn’t know how to use the medical equipment and openly admitted it — even looking up instructions on Google🤦🏻 This level of care is unacceptable and unsafe, especially under a government-funded program like Medi-Cal. Patients deserve dignity, respect, and competent medical professionals. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the state. I hope others speak up too. Our health is not a Gamee!!

My first routine colonoscopy and the medical staff was very friendly, from the nurses to the doctor himself. They understood my nervousness about the procedure. They made my first procedure a stress free experience. I loved that team. Thank you to the San Mateo Medical Center Endocology department for helping me stay calm.

Long waiting time, billing department is nuts. I paid for my emergency but they gave my debt to collectors and after a year I had to handle it by myself. Collectors wanted 10% more what I already paid! In the end, they accepted, that there was a payment and found it.
